Hi Joomlapolis Support Team,I am looking for suggestions on how to implement a temporary free trial membership period on our site using CBSubs.
Joomla version: 5.4.8
Community Builder version: 2.12.0
CB Paid Subs Version: 4.9.0+build.2026.02.18.17.10.13.c24dcd46a
I am exploring a couple of different approaches and would appreciate your guidance on the best way to configure this.
Option A (Preferred): Trial on existing plans -
Ideally, I would like to allow users to select a 3-day free trial period on any of our
existing membership plans.
- Is it possible to attach a trial period directly to existing plans?
- If so, how can I restrict this so it can only be used once per user/email address to prevent abuse?
Option B (Alternative): Dedicated trial plan - If Option A isn't feasible, I assume we will need to create a brand new, separate plan item (e.g., Price: 0.00, Duration: 3 Days) and manually configure the category/content access for it.
- If we go this route, how can we prevent multiple signups from the same registered user? We want to ensure that once a user's 3-day trial expires, they cannot simply sign up for that same free trial plan again.
