New registration emails

New registration emails was created by mnaged2021
We are having issues that we can't receive emails when new users register on the website. They show up on the back end of the website, but it isn't sending the notification emails to the person registering or the administrator. I have tested emails and they work correctly. The website and software is current.

Is this a new site or existing site that suddenly stopped working? Are the emails just not arriving at all or are they landing in spam folders?

Note the email tester in Joomla global configuration is unreliable as it's sending to the same domain that's receiving the email. You need to test sending to an external domain (e.g. gmail). Easiest way to do that is go to CB > User Management and select a test account with an external email address then use the Mass Mailer button to send that user an email.

So sending it that way worked. The registration email didn't go to spam. 

So, what isn't making sense is that when I try to register, it shows up in user management, but I didn't get an email about the registration as the user, and there wasn't an email sent to the admin email.

Does sending an email from CB > User Management to that same test registration user result in the email arriving? If so it's probably something in your registration email that's flagging your outbound mail server or external inbound mail servers. If you customized the registration email in CB > Configuration > Registration try resetting to the following defaults and retry.

Registration Email Name: REGISTRATION_EMAIL_FROM_NAME
Registration Email Address: (set to empty)
Registration Reply-To Email Address: (set to empty)
Registration Email HTML: Yes
Pending Email Subject: YOUR_REGISTRATION_IS_PENDING_APPROVAL_SUBJECT
Pending Email Body: YOUR_REGISTRATION_IS_PENDING_APPROVAL_MESSAGE
Welcome Email Subject: YOUR_REGISTRATION_IS_APPROVED_SUBJECT
Welcome Email Body: YOUR_REGISTRATION_IS_APPROVED_MESSAGE

If you used language overrides for any of these please temporarily remove the overrides during your retry as well. This should help rule out the contents of the email being the problem.

Then my best guess is your host is blocking it in the outboard mail server for whatever reason. Recommend getting in touch with them to see if your host can take a look at mail server logs.

The only alternative I can think of is you could be interrupting the registration process. Are you using CB Auto Actions for any registration triggers? A redirect maybe?
