Kyle, my concern is when i unpublish a photo (from frontend), it is appearing in the activity stream and moreover it is mentionned that the user published this photo (I confirmed this also on your demo site)

Seams like there might be a bug then with the published state syncing. The activity post should be unpublished/published based off the media state. I've added a bug ticket to investigate further.

However please keep in mind the only people that can see it are the owner of the photo and CB Moderators. The server side aggregation will remove it for everyone else since the media isn't accessible.

Ok, was able to find the cause and have implemented several improvements. New CB Activity build release is now available with these improvements. The gallery posts will now properly unpublish. If the media is grouped with another post it will properly ungroup as well.

Thank you so much for the update !

I don't know if it is easy for a next update but when a photo is published, it is not bumped at top of activity stream which should be the right position to let user's see this new post ( otherwise, the activity maybe placed at the bottom of stream depending of the date of the initial post with unpublished photo or album)

It's inserted into the stream matching the date of the gallery media itself. So you'd need to change the medias date in backend for it to do that. Will review in a future release how to better handle this when dealing with something going through approval since even if current date is inserted once they edit the media it'll override that. Might be better for CB Gallery itself to update the media date on approval actually.

Oh OK, it's relevant to assign the actual date of publishing for the activity stream.  No problem to wait a while for a future update of CB Gallery if easy to do ! Thank you for this !
Christmas gift : this is the hack to display a fontawesome icon on thumbnails for unpublished photos or albums...
