Subscription not updating despite payment

Subscription not updating despite payment was created by wintercorn
Member has a sub in CBSUBS and recently updated their payment details on Stripe. There was no subscription there (for some reason) so I've added one. It got actioned and paid today but the members profile still shows:

"Full Member
Active, expiring on 02/02/2026, auto-renewing, pending payment"

How long does it take for the webhooks to update CBSUBS with the correct expiry date and clear the pending status? I've already manually resubmitted the webhook url to no effect.

Recurring payments can take up to a week depending on payment method, but usually clear within 24 hours. I recommend having at least 3 day grace period configured on your plans so they don't expire while payments clear. As for when Stripe sends webhooks that's entirely on Stripe and you can see when it does from your Stripe dashboard within the Webhook log.

There was no subscription there (for some reason) so I've added one.

You manually added a subscription at Stripe? That will not work. That won't be linked to CBSubs. You can try forcing it to be linked though by adding the metadata necessary. Edit the subscription and you should see a "Metadata" section and add the following metadata.

gateway = CBSubs Gateway ID Here
invoice = Basket Invoice ID Here
order_id = Basket ID Here
user_id = User ID Here

Once you've done that you should be able to resend the webhook and see if that will link things up.

Thanks. Sort of done.

Where is this? "invoice = Basket Invoice ID Here" It seems to be the same as the order_id.

Resubmitting the webhook returns: "webhook skipped: handling for this event is not implemented" (despite the same webhooks used for all other subs)

I've also got "Grace period before real expiration" set to 7 days which should have been enough.

Where is this? "invoice = Basket Invoice ID Here" It seems to be the same as the order_id.

That'd be the actual invoice id. It is not the same as basket id. You can find it in CBSubs > Baskets then click the button for the basket in the Invoice column.

Oddly it had already filled it wth the correct invoice number R170. Still didn't work though.

Got the error "webhook notice: version is older than supported, but will still attempt to process. webhook process: failed"
