Hm. Didn't see it with any browser on windows and mac, including FF.

If you have firebug on your FF, do you see from where it comes ?

Did you by any chance change the default input default size in your browser ?
Or have any extension or setting forcing minimum font size for text inputs ?

The text inputs font size is set at 2 levels to 11px: body, and also in the side columns when I look through firebug from here.

Hi,

no I did not change the input size. I see the same as you with firebug. There is no width set and the browser interprets its own width :)

Searched a little bit. Seems to be a browser bug on linux amd64 FF versions ... sorry for the hassle.

See: bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/305187

The only workaround (i found by now) is to give the ids a fixed width with the existing ids e.g. [code:1]#mod_search_searchword { width: 120px; }[/code:1]
margin-right, padding-right did not work :(

I will reopen the bugreport on launchpad to get this fixed.

ndee,

No worries. Happy that it's not a bug in MyCommunity.

We conducted full tests on all major browsers on Windows and Mac platforms, and made sure we got by that the coverage of Linux browsers rendering engines shared with other platforms.

But I'm suspecting this bug is outside the rendering engine of the browser, in the input widget drawer of FF-amd64. You might even have different results in KDE and in GNOME...who knows...

(btw you may want to add to your launchpad bug report comment the windows screendump they asked earlier, so that the difference is clear to the FF devs too).

that was what I did the last couple of minutes :)

Really seems to be a amd64 issue on linux. Hope they will fix that. I thought the gecko engine draws the screen 1:1 on every platform - but it doesn't as we see :)

:(
I thought testers of CB 1.2 would get this little gem.
I would love to test this with RT RokBridge RC8 and the new RT phpbb3 styles. B)
