Hi,

I tested the gallery upload on a profile with a photo. I loaded it up and published it with access for connection type "Siemens". Then I checked the recent activity stream on another profile which is NOT connection type "siemens". The stream item appears. Not not with the photo in it, but with the message "Something went wrong!" in it. This is not the first time I saw this message in a stream, so I thought it's better to ask. Can you tell me what went wrong?

Best regards Uwe

If the photo isn't accessible and the photo couldn't be filtered out by query or server side aggregation it will display that. This will be improved with CB Gallery 3.0, which I'm currently working on, to better ensure inaccessible photos don't try to render at all in streams.

Hi Kyle, ok, thank you. Another short question: for gallery assets it's possible to use custom assets, e.g. connectionsonly. How do I handle this? E.g. I create an asset "profile.%.[cb_register_as].files.connectionsonly" to show files only to connections, does that work without seleceting the access while uploading the file?
Best regards Uwe

Asset determines display. So what that would do is display gallery entries with that asset from only your connections. It does not determine access. Access is determined by the gallery the photo belongs to for example. In CB Gallery 3.0 galleries are stored in the database just like in CB Activity with streams so this is easier to keep track of (1 location to manage galleries). However in current release this is based off wherever the gallery is output from (e.g. gallery field, gallery module, etc..) so it can be a little confusing right now.

I have an simple idea that maybe is useful for some kind of scenarios. Gallery items are mostly uploaded for a special usergroup or a connection or a special member. Only they should see this item. Very useful for that is the access-selectlist while uploading an item. BUt you have to use it. As standard "public" is selected. And users may do not realize the selectlist and so they maybe publishing files to public which only should be accessed by connections or a special usergroup.
Is it possible that the standard access in the selectlist isn't set? User MUST select an access level before they are able to save the item?
Best regards Uwe
