Community Builder 2.12 Released!

We are thrilled to announce Community Builder 2.12, an important UPDATE for your community site. CB 2.12 brings faster profile pages, simpler email logins, modernized private messages, and easier CB Add-Ons updates.

The highlight of this release is speed. When only one profile tab is requested, CB now processes just that tab. On top of this, the CB Core Fields Ajax 6.0.0 Add-On brings profile hydration: profile tabs can load their content after the page is shown. Your profiles can be full of features and still load fast.

Here is an overview of the new features and improvements in this update:

Main New Features:

1. Modernized Private Messages: The private messages modal window gets a fresh, simpler design and a new See All button. #9890, #7971, #9363.
2. Better Email Login: If your site uses email login, the login form now shows a proper email field. The forgot username link can also be hidden. #9875, #9862.
3. Kunena 7 Support: CB Forums now works with Kunena 7. #9913.
4. Plugin Updates Banner: The CB control panel now shows a banner when plugin updates are available. #8051.
5. Faster Version Checks: A new plugin manifest cache makes version checks much faster. #9892.
6. Safer Plugin Handling: A broken plugin XML file or version cache can no longer block your CB admin area. #9879.

Other New Features:

• Tab Rendering Triggers: New triggers fire before and after each tab renders, so plugins can change how tab content loads. #9880.
• Editor Text Area Settings: The editor text area field type gets width and height settings and can load the Joomla editor buttons. #9856.
• Template Layout per Menu Item: A menu item can now SELECT its own template layout. #9773.

Important Improvements:

• Requesting a single profile tab no longer processes the whole profile. #9889.
• Kunena forums load properly again on Joomla 6. #9821.
• Registration trigger results are displayed again. #9797.
• A tab in two positions no longer doubles its output. #7967.
• All remote requests now have a timeout, so a slow external server can no longer hang your site. #9887.

Community Builder 2.12.0 is thoroughly tested on Joomla 5 and Joomla 6, works on Joomla 4.4, and even still installs on Joomla 3.10. If your site still runs Joomla 3.10, consider this a last call: CB 2.12 is one of the last versions compatible with it.
