[SOLVED] MyCommunity Template on iPad requires double tap

After implementing my site, I began to receive reports that users on iOS devices took 2 taps / "clicks" to activate any links they wanted to follow. The first tap on a new page did nothing, and the second then worked. Subsequent taps were fine (such as in the case of a drop-down menu).

I cloned my site, and began testing disabling extensions & modules one at a time, until the effect stopped. When I disabled the CB Login module, the issue vanished.

I also googled the issue - does this make sense? Is this included in CB Login, somehow?

The issue is more than the CB Login Module - it's any page that involves CB itself.

On my test site, if I browse to pages that do not involve CB (such as Kunena, regular content, etc.) behavior is normal. If I browse to my CB Profile, the issue comes back up, even with the Login module disabled.

I was eventually able to get around it using Method #1 from the following link:

www.websitecodetutorials.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=727

However, this is additional loading & scripts to correct a problem... If it's possible, I'd rather remove the issue in the first place to streamline things.

I've merged these two topics as it's in regards to the same issue. We're still looking into this and don't have a reason for the cause yet. We've disable CBs jQuery entirely, CBs CSS entirely, and the issue is still present so I have no idea what's causing this. It's limited to iPhone and iPad devices only (all browsers). I don't know if it's just a bug in the device or what, but why CB triggers the issue is what is the most confusing part as even if the only thing loaded by CB is the HTML for its login module the issue is still there, which makes no sense.

It's a known "feature" of iOS (intentional on the part of Apple - Google shows this going back for years).

It's not just the Login module - it's also other parts of CB, such as the Login form. I disabled the module, went to the login / reg page, and the issue was still there even with the module disabled.

Is there a common core or plugins loaded by both the module, and the component?

What I meant is on our test site we have just the login module present to provide a very minimal environment. The issue persists even if we force CB to basically load nothing. So only CBs PHP and the HTML of the module it self are loaded on the page. No CB jQuery and no CB CSS present. Yet even with such a minimal environment the issue persists, which again makes absolutely no sense.

We've made it even more minimal by using the CB Online module which is nothing but a UL element that's empty, no CSS loaded, and no jQuery loaded (or JS for that matter) yet the issue also persists.

I'm guessing CB is causing Joomla to load something that normally isn't loaded by default. I've yet to find out what though as am still looking into this.
