You might want to take a look at the CB Captcha Plug-in message I posted in the CB Newbies section. It appears that john1000 and I are experiencing the same problem. His description/issue mirrors the difficulties I am having on our church's website that I help maintain.

The issues with captcha 1.0 have been discussed before and in summary are:

1. no GD library installed
2. no freetype support installed
3. garbage in template or in language file breaking image generation

Captcha 1.0 is ok with CB 1.1 - i tested it.

So you are either having the previously identified problems or i realy dont know.

I have created the next version - as I stated and need people to help me debug the last remaining problem - mcafee security blocks image in next captcha version.

this next version will take care of problem #3 and will also add sound.

i just need to identify some users to help out.

until such users-testers show up there is not much i can do.

i cannot debug each instance related with problem #3 - i prefer to spend my free time fixing up version 2 so i can release.

not trying to blame ...

this process (and anything else you have done, perhpas a new language file from some other extension, joomla, plugin, etc) must have put some garbage in the process.

I would much rather spend my time in a solution that solves point 3 above all together rather than attempt to personally debug the millions of environments out there ... unless folks are willing to pay for my time (so I can take off from my real job) ... and even then there is no way i would be able to support so many people.
