To have the menu show in the module, but not on profile you need to edit the menu tab in tab management and move it to a not shown on profile position. Once done ensure it is still published and public. Now use the substitution described in CB Content to render it in a module. Substitutions respect configuration and privacy, this is a GOOD thing.
