I bit the bullet and upgraded to the latest CB. That's fixed the problem, thankfully.

Has anyone else already using CB1.1 and having these problems had any luck with solving them?

I just updated my admin password using phpmyadmin and its built in md5 function. Works for backend login (admin section) but gets automatically corrupted if I frontend login either with CB_Login or default joomla Login.

So basically I just can login to the admin section and my members cannot login to the home page.

(why the hell did I update joomla?)

using the cb login users get nothing but a blank page
using the smf login m. some users can log in.

this was working fine while I wait for an answer from the CB team.

now the cb captcha module has started generating a invalid security code response to the correct security code.

I ended up downgrading to joomla 1.0.12 (with CB 1.1). Straightforward process: replaced all the files modified/added by verion 1.0.13 by their counterparts in version 1.0.12. I guess there might be some weird stuff in the data base, but so far everything works just fine

I fixed my problem!!

It was the version check to see if it was Mambo or Joomla that was causing me issues - with the fresh install of Joomla, CB 1.1 is correct.
