Please see the parameter Path to ImageMagick at Joomla Backend -> Components -> Community Builder -> Configuration -> Images. You likely need to specify the exact path as auto can not always find the extension as not all hosts use the same directory. Please contact your host for such directory if you do not know it.

thanks for the hint. I checked with my host for the appropriate path to the executable (/usr/bin/convert) and I also checked the CB code for the default paths - /usr/bin and /usr/local/bin. Thus looks to me like its located at a default place isn't it?

only why is it not detected then?

Was able to duplicate your issue on a live install, will require further investigation. Sorry for the inconvenience.

#1619

Further investigation has revealed it appears related to exec(), please check and see if your host has disabled the usage of exec (this can be seen from within Joomlas info pane followed by PHP Information).

oh yes removing exec from the disable_functions directive surely fixes the matter !
thanks for the hint! :)

any chance a hint to check the values of the above directive in phpinfo could be added somewhere?
