[#2540] Advanced User Search for a blank field

12 years 11 months ago - 12 years 11 months ago #164625 by researchware
I have read the CB 1.4 documentation, look at the FAQs and tried to search these Forums and was unable to find the answer to this question. In the Advanced user search in the CB back-end, how do you search for an empty or NULL field?

in SQL I would say WHERE lastname IS NULL
or WHERE lastname LIKE ''

I tried using <field> 'is exactly' and leaving the value field blank, but that matches everything.

Was able to confirm your issue and have created a bug ticket for further investigate. Would seam to possibly be some sort of bug. Typically blank means no criteria was specified so it's ignored. However, advanced has a "no preference", which should act as the blank and allowing "is exactly" to search for blank content.
