[SOLVED] Group Jive - User creation of groups / group acces

12 years 8 months ago - 12 years 8 months ago #175373 by peterd99
Hi,

When I allow my users to create a group in the frontend of Groupjive 2.3 I dont want the users to see the "Group Access" dropdown as it displays the entire security levels for my site. I want it to be default, fixed and if possible hidden from the user.

I see it as to much of a risk letting users have visibility of this and it essentially means that I cant use Groupjive on my site if I cant find a solution.

Is there a way I can do this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Peter

OK so I have found a similar topic here:

www.joomlapolis.com/forum/238-general-discussion/164233-creation-group?limit=6&start=6

As the fields I wish to remove from user view are "required" it appears that i cant edit them out of the file. (I tried though haha)

Any suggestions as how i can make the access dropdown not show every access level I have to the site?

Or perhaps the configuration to set defaults for this field is included in the next version?

This feature is added with next release (GJ 2.4). Currently GJ 2.4rc1 is available to professional subscribers with GJ 2.4rc2 to soon release to professional subscribers. Once out of testing to be moved to advanced and professional subscribers as GJ 2.4 stable. With next release for nearly all configuration (integrations included) you can select the default value as well as whether that parameter is "visible" or not.
