As far as I can test on various php 5.x versions, this problem does NOT affect the standard php 4.x and 5.x releases ( www.php.net ).

It only affects the hardenedPHP flavor ( www.hardened-php.net ) with default settings, which is seldom found on hosted webservers.

This site for instance, runs php 5.x...

That's why it's not often seen...

Ok I figured this out...

Go into components/com_comprofiler/comprofiler.php

Search for cbRegAntiSpamCheck();

Place // in front of it to comment it out.

I have tested this on 2 dif versions or Joomla and it solved the problem for me. No need to dig through comprofiler.class.php, just comment it out as I have described above. When a fix comes out for this issue then all you will need to do is uncomment that one function.

ps. I also have PMS enhanced and Joomlaboard Forum installed and everything works great.

I had the same problem like you.
But now I've a fix for fit.

Just install the the attached patch and it should work. ;)
