I am having the exact same problem and am desperate to be able to just add a value. My host is running PHP 4.4.7 and I cannot upgrade to PHP 5 at this time. Surely there is a workaround for this for those of us stuck with less than PHP 5 for a bit longer? Can this be added direct to the database?
