cannot move or unpublish profile picture...

14 years 11 months ago #95754 by rw1
hello,

first, im a bit confused what the difference between avatar and profile pic is in the backend, but my main question is about moving and unpublishing the profile pic.

wherever i move the profile pic or avatar via the backend 'tab manager' area, it is staying below the header area (where i have published a 'contact info' tab.

any ideas why i cant control where, and if, this picture is displayed?

thanks very much!

ps i did a 'purge sef urls' in sh404sef config area so not sure if that has anything to do with it?

any ideas much appreciated!

thank you!! :)

Try upgrading to CB 1.2 Stable.

i have upgradaphobia...partly because i don't really know how to do it or what is taking place in the upgrade process (what's being upgraded, what files are going to be replaced, how to keep tweaks etc) and so if something breaks, its not good :)

That's why you always back up your database and settings, but as a tester, I've went through numerous updates. I can tell you it's painless (database settings are kept except maybe requiring reinstall of some CB Plugins that are greyed out or overwriting with old configuration file which is also in the instructions).

Expert Upgrade (in readme.txt) is easiest in my opinion, since it requires just one overwrite with the compressed files instead of uninstall/reinstalls of component and modules.

hi Rapunzl,

thanks very much for your message :)

well, i backed up everything and just uploaded via ftp all the folders in the expert folder and then ran all the checks in community builders tools and no red text showed up. so i think im good! wow. the immovable, unable to unpublish profile pic is still on user profiles though.

if u had any ideas on this it would be much appreciated.

thanks very much!

rw1 :)

Fields Manager: In your Avatar field parameters, disable on profile (to disable). The positioning parameters are in Tab Manager.
