As promised (see previous announcement), the public release of the Community Builder 1.0 RC2 suite will commence on Friday, 25.Nov.2005 (see countdown on home page). The release package will be available in the downloads area of this site ( here ) and in the our project area on the Joomla! developer site ( http://developer.joomla.org/sf/projects/cb ). Language plugin packages and documentation shall also be available in these areas.
During the 9 day THANK YOU Release period, CB 1.0 RC2 has been downloaded over 185 times by past supporters and contributors. Many installations have been made and initial feedback has been provided and documented on the relevant Joomlapolis forums. This initial set of dedicated CB community users, now has some hands-on experience and can hopefully help the rest of the PUBLIC community get up to speed by answering any questions posted on the forum boards. This will of course lighten the load of the CB Team, thus enabling them to continue working on other important issues (plugin coordination, new features, etc.).
The entire CB Team is extremely proud of this particular release as we all believe that it will prove a milestone for the project. Enjoy!

The Joomlapolis city territory was under another DoS attack which caused it to be unreachable for the most part of the day. The website management team is already investigating alternatives.
Any suggestions are more then welcomed!

The Joomla! team has just release Joomla! 1.0.4 [Sundial] which is marked as a security related release (although it does contain other fixes).
Perhaps some fellow Joomlapolitans can verify if this release is compatible with CB 1.0 RC2 and report back in the following discussion thread:

We use to play this game over at mamboforge.net. The CB Team would always follow the Community Builder project ranking compared to the other sourceforge projects. The way the developer.joomla.org sourceforge system is currently configured only the top 5 most active projects are displayed on its home page. I am not currently aware of the criteria and parameters involved in the words "most active" - don't really care. The fact is that before the initial CB1.0 RC2 Release Schedule Announcement the Community Builder project was not referenced on the developer site home page. A day or two after the announcement the Community Builder project suddenly appeared at the number five spot! It is currently in the number four spot. I anticipate that when public release day comes the project will reach the number 2 spot only because Joomla! is also participating in these measurements (really unfair if you ask me). We are not vain or anything - its just fun and rewarding!

Greetings Fellow Joomlapolitans!
Our four day old community (remember this site went public on November 14th) is growing fast. At the time of this writting we have over 430 registered Joomlapolitans and close to 9000 hits! Not bad for starters.
As mentioned in previous updates the entire concept driving this website is to support and showcase the capabilities and potential of its supported products - which at this moment are focused around the Community Builder suite. At the same time, we must also listen and respond to our community's feedback - after all community building is what its all about (this might turn out to be a nice slogan!). Having said this, we are planning some website maintenance activities to take place over the weekend (19-20 Nov). During this period (the exact time depends on our extra spare time and personal schedules) our site will be down briefly (~ 1 hour) to perform some of the following activities: Upgrade to the latest CB 1.0 RC2 version (currently we are running build 12 - the TY release is build 13), change some of the Joomlapolitan Card CB Fields (add extra languages to language multi checkbox field, make CB Platform field a multi-select field to track current use of Joomla vs Mambo, add a new Editor type field on a new tab to allow members to further express themselves, and whatever else comes to mind).
Finally, the JP Team will also start using more and more features of the Community Builder and its supported integrated components, such as the Yanc Newsletter component.
