Hey,

I set up CB as it says in the instruction but when i go to log in any user this error pops up on a blank page until i clear my cache and restart safari.

Fatal error: Call to a member function check_auth() on a non-object in /home/*usernamedeleted*/public_html/components/com_content/helpers/icon.php on line 187

Any idea?

Does not look like a CB error.

This is the main joomla content component complaining.

Hi Nant,

I am getting the same error and it is in conjunction with not being able to get the CB login module to work. I cannot login under the CB login. I disable it and use Joomla login and I can login as registered user, except for administrator, then it throws this error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function check_auth() on a non-object in /home/*sitename*/public_html/components/com_content/helpers/icon.php on line 187

Running CB 1.2.1, Joomla 1.5.14. Virtuemart 1.1.4 & Fabrik 2.0rc4.

No SEF turned on. No caching turned on.

I had tried installing Open Source Excellence User Access Control, then noticed that I could not login properly. Not sure if it was not working before the OSE install. Have uninstalled the OSE component and still the CB login does not work properly.

I am tearing my hair out. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Really want to use CB login. Don't know what to do next.

Hi Nant,

Sorry for the double-post - I didn't realize I had done that.

However, I did solve my issue. I did an upgrade to Joomla 1.5.15, but that did not help. Sometimes you just have to believe what the message says and go look at the line in the file. Turns out that OSE did not uninstall everything. It left over admin privilege extras. I commented out lines 180 thru 212 in the icon.php file and it works fine. I turned CB login mod back on and tested it. Works like a champ.

Moral of this story is that OSE and CB probably do not work well together.

Hope this helps someone with this problem ...
