Popup and Joomla Error Message at the same time

13 years 8 months ago #138755 by bytekultur
Hi all,
I have CB installed and I really like it. It's always the small things though... does anyone know if I can deactivate the display of sys-messages in a popup?

To describe the case: When I use the reg form of CB, and I post a username that's already used, I get the message that there is so. Fine. Just: the message appears in a popup, and then also as a Error Message of Joomla (the ones produced by the <jdoc:include type="message" /> tag in the template).

I would just like to know if there is a setting somewhere to control that popup output as I think two times the same phrase is a bit too much...

Thanks for any information.

First of all you are posting in the CB 1.2.1 area (which we will close soon) - if you are using CB 1.2.1 please upgrade to CB 1.2.3 and post from now in in CB 1.2.3 area.

Regarding your question, I believe that both errors are needed - one is javascript and the other is server side (since javascript can be disabled in your browser).

Excuse me for posting in the wrong forum, I didn't realise.

I understand the idea of having both, but I just wanted to know whether there is a setting so the javascript message could be deactivated (as the serverside message can't be deactivated by the user, so it would always be available).

Thanks for your reply and I will post in the new forum next time.

No you can't disable the JS alerts. They're used to display JS based validation errors to users at registration.
