External e-mail to group like Yahoo Groups was created by HeadGofer
I have a client who uses Yahoo Groups. They like the feature that allows an individual to send an e-mail to the group without having to log in to the yahoo group site. From their description it appears yahoo allows an external e-mail to reach the group as long as the sender is part of the group.
Does CB or any other component/add-on offer this functionality?

It's possible GroupJive will meet your needs, but such email group members or group owner is being removed from GJ 2.0. I believe there is a plugin called CB Mailing which might do as you're wanting.

I'm looking for someone who can program this functionality for me. My clients are fond of some of the things yahoo groups can do including mailing to the group from outside of the site, and posting docs and spreadsheets for reference to all group members.
Could you recommend anyone who could integrate this with community builder?

I recommend using CB 1.2.3 new Mass Mailing feature to send the emails you're needing. It's possible to filter User Management based on any field and then mass mailing to the resulting users. Otherwise no such feature is available for GJ 1.8 or 2.0, sorry.
