I have imported my users via CBjuice..
some of them did not have emails so CB juice replaced those fields with dummy emails

username@foo.cheese.com

all profiles look and work fine on the front end.

but when an admin goes to edit a user with a dummy email on the backend the "Invalid Email" warning appears and you cannot save the user.

I have Ajax email checker turned off.

but I cannot get these users to save!

and I do not want to have to verify each mail.
even though some of my users did provide emails..they may have proved dummy names or misspells.

so I cant even edit the "what could be valid accounts"

how to overcome this?

further investigation

for some reason this just started out of the blue.

we imported and were manually editing users..some of the users were almost identical to the one who produced errors.

I had prolly edited 50 or so users manually.

Then suddenly nobody could be edited that had the dummy email.

the only way this could be fixed was to change the email address manually to a valid email on every single user (2000+)

to all lowercase random text and use a domain that is active
(i have one on the server I dont use)

so instead of the email being:
Bob Smith@foo.cheeze.com

It has to be:
bobsmith@my2nddomain.com

the dummy domains no longer work.


this is the only way we can proceed.
and it is very frustrating as what was supposed to take an hour or two has consumed the whole day.

what is this issue? .. how to get rid of it?

validation was disabled.


I cannot add any type of dummy email.

like:
bobby@nonexistentdomain.com

it will now ONLY accept an email with a valid live domain.

I cannot fill in any type of dummy email address.

something went wrong as this was fine for dozen of users WITH spaces, and using a nonexistent domain name.

not recently, acajoom has been installed well before CB (7+ months)

I was able to edit many users before it finally said "no more"
