Thank you very much. I was able to install as an extension, but unfortunately when I enable it, I get error messages. The actual extension itself (version 2.0) says it's not compatible with native Joomla 1.5, which is what I have. it says I must enable Legacy mode, which I did and still get errors. I get the same thing when installing prior versions of UddeIM. I will try to search that forum to see who can assist me with this.

Hi there. I have been really trying to get private messaging to work. I was able to install and the private messaging menu appears on the Home page, however, when I click on the link, I receive a 404 error that says "Component Not Found" and then it refers to option=com_uddeim&task=inbox. I read in the UddeIm FAQ that one must create a menu link to UddeIM, however, when I try to create a menu that links to it, UddeIM is not a menu item type to choose. I'm such a novice and I have really researched this but have not found out how to select UddeIM as a menu item type. Would you please assist me with this? Much appreciated.
