Collation was created by only1russ
After running tools
I had this error - or similar -
(copied from my searches)


ERROR: sql query: SELECT u.id FROM #__users u LEFT JOIN #__core_acl_aro a ON a.section_value = 'users' AND a.value = CAST( u.id AS CHAR ) WHERE a.value IS NULL : returned error: Illegal mix of collations (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation '=' SQL=SELECT u.id FROM jos_users u LEFT JOIN jos_core_acl_aro a ON a.section_value = 'users' AND a.value = CAST( u.id AS CHAR ) WHERE a.value IS NULL


I followed the steps I saw in various places, now the error is gone - but when I am in the administrator menu and go to search users - I am put back to the admin control panel in joomla - and kicked out of the community builder menu.

I saw where someone was working on a table php, but my tools does not show any errors

Is there somewhere else I can look?

Please ensure you're running latest Joomla release (1.5.20) as per your signature you're on 1.5.9. You're being kicked out of CB User Management or Joomla User Manager? Have you tried enabling debug mode and maximum error reporting then searching? Any errors? Have you reviewed server error log for any errors? Any JS errors present in browser error log? Tried disabling CB plugins 1 by 1 until resolved?

I have changed the collation to all tables - and there are -0- errors reported - the front end works fine, however in the admin when I select a member or search for a member I am redirected to the main admin menu. I am unable to edit any users in the admin side.

I am using cb 1.23 - I would like to resolve this before I update...

Where should i look now?

Please upgrade to the latest release of CB (1.3.1).

I would like to resolve this before I update...

That is the point of updates, to fix issues.

Thankf for the reply...

I went ahead and backed up the system
then applied the new version...
I still have the same error

when I go to the backend user manager
I can not select a user
and when I search it takes me back to the
main admin menu

Where do I look?

You must have some sort of conflict in place in that case. If you can't click a checkbox or user the links then it's very likely a fatal JS error. Please disable CB plugins 1 by 1 until resolved. If not resolved perform the same with Joomla System plugins. Please monitor your browser error console for fatal JS errors. If after tests issue persists please PM backend login credentials and will take a look.
