[#2906] problem with the plug_cbgroupjive directory

12 years 6 months ago #179674 by dryas
my umask is correct, but is it possible that the joomla ftp layer was in cause ?
in fact joomla give the same permission than Filezilla.

i use a proftp daemon under gentoo but i can't see anything wrong into the conf. and i never have this sort of problem under joomla 1.0.0, my conf doesn't change since my migration to joomla 1.5. i will ask to a linux ie3 and post if he found the cause.

I've no idea, it's worth a try to disable the FTP layer, but GJ doesn't even use it for frontend and instead uses direct PHP functions. Am not experienced with hosting related matters so perhaps is best to contact your host regard its configuration. At any rate next release will feature a parameter to force a permission of your choosing.

i found some information about this bug.
there is no problem with a webhosting or with a lamp or xamp.
in fact the bug exist with dedicated server and virtualhosting

the apache/php run under nobody:nobody and the joomlasite under myuser:users
so the file was created by php under nobody:nobody and move under myuser:users. to have the correct permissions i must insert a php chmod after the php move/creation of file.

i hope this information can help you for the futur fix.

I see, will add to the ticket to include forcing a chmod on the directory after the move; this should prevent future issues.
