Still Getting Unauthorized Access on Sign Ins

When my users try to sign into my web site using CB 2, they keep getting

Error

You are not authorised to view this resource.

I reported this before but no one has provided a solution. I did not have this problem with version 1 of CB.

Please post Joomla version, CB Version and URL you are seeing in your browser when you see the error message.

Please note that this is a Joomla message that means that somewhere your permissions are configured wrong.

If you migrated from CB 1.x edit all of your Joomla menu items for CB and correct their Menu Type as CB 1.x didn't create proper internal Joomla menu items. CB 2.x now correctly creates them and you could be having odd menu item access permissions. If issue persists ensure you've a public and published Joomla menu item to CBs profile page (this is mandatory).

The website that I am testing this on is a brand new site that I started from scratch. When I sign on using a module, there is NO error message. When I sign on using a menuitem, I get an error message.

Note: this test site has never had CB 1.X. My live site has had CB 1.X.

Note: all the CB menu items are published and public in a CB menu which I don't use. There is a module for the CB sign in.

Are you trying to login from the login page or from the CB Login module? Please note you must use CBs login module and not Joomlas. The error you're seeing is a Joomla access denied error. Specifically it's "JERROR_ALERTNOAUTHOR", which means Joomla won't even let you access CB. Please ensure Site Login permissions are properly configured within System > Global Configuration > Permissions. Specifically Public should have access to login, etc..
