It is Finished! I have finally got it installed without having to reinstall Joomla! It seems to be working fine now. My permissions kept getting messed up.

What was the actual reason?
I have the same problem since i installed CB Advanced Search 2.0.3.

Joomla 1.0.10 stable
CB 1.0 RC 2
permissions all OK
MySQL 4.1.10
PHP5

Everything worked fine until the installation of the advanced search component.

all works great now, couldn't be happier
