I have been experiencing difficulty in getting the profile urls to work on my website.

www.mydomain.com/username.

I have posted this question before and noone could help. After trying every suggestion given in this forum, I contacted a developer and my webhost.

From what I could gather, from the webhost, they believe that the server is not reacting to the commands in my .htaccess file because of the language used by joomla.

The developer I am working with thought that the mod_rewrite was not enabled on my account at all. I later confirmed that it was.


If this is true and my webhost is not compatible with joomla, should I consider another webhost? Does this make any sense? I am on an APACHE server so it should work right?

I even stripped the .htaccess file of some of the commands using only the commands required for the profile urls and I still could not get it to work.
