Update:
Ok, i got the link working now and the image appears if you click the link text in a new window, however the pop up still comes up with the "NaN" Error.
I have found that the code is looking for the parameter pgimage file to write out, but i can't find where this variable is defined with a path.

I guess the problem is with the pop up so does anyone know what the problem could be?

Problem has been identified.
It is due to Joomla 1.5 SEF plugin that basically tampers with the plugins html output.
This works just fine in Joomla 1.0 series.
I have raised 2 artifacts agains Joomla 1.5 regarding this.
We have also prepared a CB 1.2 compatible version that tricks the Joomla 1.5 SEF plugin.
This will be released when CB 1.2 is released.

I am getting NaN> error when I click on the images to expand them into the pop-up.
I am using Joomla version 1.5.3 running on Legacy Mode. But I also got the errors when it was off Legacy Mode.
I have CB Version 1.2 RC.
With SEF turned on or off I get the window which accurately displays the Picture Description but the picture is replaced with Nan>.
I have both the plugin and the module installed.
With the (default) Thumbnails check off and the below:
When using Overlay Sticky - the thumbnails show up but don't expand at all.
When using Fixed Overlay closing on mouseout - I get the window with the thumbnails showing but they don't expand at all.
When using overlay moving with mouse - the window pops with the thumbnails and I can't click the images.
When using Raw display without description - I get the thumbnails and I get the Nan> error when i click.
Display as div - I get the thumbnails and I get the NaN> error when I click.
Tabbed Pane - I get the thumbnails and I get the NaN> error when I click.
with the Tablelist -
The images don't have thumbnails and open a separate window to expand the images.
With the Thumbnail lightbox - I click on the image and a whit background appears with no image.

i get the NaN error also.
joomla 1.5.7
CB 1.2 RC3
gallery plugin and module installed with no problems!
