I had the same issue. Tried all the suggestions. No joy.
If I put in the full url to the home page on the redirect option to log out in the module with www.mysite.com it worked.
ALSO, the help text says that if you leave the redirect to page blank on the LOG IN screen, you'll go to the page you were on. When I log in, I always go to home page, NOT the page I was on.
Running the latest 1.2, just the Joomla SEF turned on.
But at least I finally got this far!
